Weaving is one of humanity's oldest arts — interlacing threads on a loom to create fabrics. In Portugal, traditional weaving remains alive in regions like Trás-os-Montes, producing blankets, rugs and burel. The rhythmic sound of the loom is one of Portuguese culture's oldest sounds.
