About Leite-Creme
Leite-creme is a dessert of Portuguese convent origin, predating and distinct from French crème brûlée. Made with milk, egg yolks, sugar, flour and lemon peel, it is caramelized at the table with a hot iron or torch, creating an irresistible caramelized crust. At A Pharmácia da Avó, our Leite-Creme is caramelized to order in front of the guest — crispy outside, silky inside, just as grandmothers made it on special occasions.
