About Folar
Folar is a festive bread traditionally associated with Easter in Portugal. It varies enormously by region: in Minho and Trás-os-Montes it is savoury, stuffed with meats and sausages; in the centre and south it is sweet, flavoured with cinnamon and anise. Folar symbolises sharing and community — it was offered to godparents as a gesture of gratitude. At A Pharmácia da Avó, folar represents the seasonal traditions we celebrate.
