About Basketry
Basketry is the art of weaving baskets using natural materials such as wicker, straw, reed or cane. In Portugal, this tradition is particularly strong in the centre and north. Baskets were used to carry bread, fruit, laundry and even babies. At A Pharmácia da Avó, basketry is present in our décor — vintage baskets evoking the markets and grandmothers' homes.
