About Embroidery
Embroidery is one of the oldest and most widespread forms of craftsmanship in Portugal. Each region has its technique and style: Viana's Embroidery with vibrant colours; Castelo Branco's silk on linen; Tibaldinho's; Madeira's world-famous embroidery. This art, passed from mother to daughter for centuries, is much more than decoration — it is cultural identity expression. At A Pharmácia da Avó, our Embroidery Afternoons invite guests to learn ancestral techniques with local artisans.
